Brunch at Hazels in Nordeast

Dale and I had lunch at Hazel's today.  The Northeast Minneapolis restaurant has recently become a favorite of ours due to dining there more than once with Cindi and Maggie who live in that neck of the woods.  Dale had an omelet and I had a waffle with a side of ham that was some of the best I've had in a long time.

Riverview Theater

The Riverview is a south Minneapolis staple.  Our friend Warren called us last night to see if we wanted to see a movie and we ended up seeing Hitchcock at the Riverview.  The theater is a south Minneapolis staple.  The above photo is of the theater's actual screen on which can be seen a preview and not Hitchcock.

American Swedish Institute

Over winter break Mom and I made a visit to the Swedish Institute.  We had a chance to try out Fika, the new restaurant there, which is located in the new addition.  The above photo of the new addition was taken from the solarium of the Turnblad mansion part of the Institute.  By the way, the food at Fika was delicious.  Mom and I both had the cream of split pea soup.  I had the salmon smorgas while Mom had the chicken sausage smorgas with egg.  It was all divine.

New Year's Eve Day 2012 - Pizza Luce

Dale and I went to Pizza Luce in downtown Minneapolis yesterday - New Year's Eve Day.  It's one of my favorite casual downtown restaurants.  I had the mostaccioli and Dale had the lasagna. The place was dead at noon but we were pretty sure it would be hopping in the evening for New Year's Eve.
