Bitter Cold - 20 Below Zero

To the right are scenes from our backyard.

Bitter Cold

The governor called off school today because of the extreme cold. I woke up about 8:00 this morning and the temperature was 20 below zero. By 9:30 it was still 20 below. By noon, when I took Athena out for a walk, it was 17 below!

Aerial Shot of Downtown Minneapolis

Dale found this photo online. It's an aerial shot of downtown Minneapolis taken about a week ago. Notice how the Mississippi River is mostly frozen. Also notice the Metrodome which won't be around much longer.

Downtown Skyline from the American Swedish Institute

Dale and I went to the Swedish institute over Christmas vacation to view the tomtens and the Christmas trees. I took the above photo from the third floor of the mansion looking north.
